Quaility - Gary Fisher Triton Single Speed Road Bike with flip flop hub fixie Gary Fisher Triton Single Speed Road Bike This has a Fisher Steel frame and Forged crown cromoly forks with eyelets. It also has a Bontrager race track chainset with a single 44 tooth chainring and a Shimano MX30, 18 tooth cassette. Both front and rear brakes are Tektro Caliper, operated by Tektro brake levers Gary Fisher Triton Overview The Gary Fisher Triton is a single speed road bike, which has a steel frame, providing a sturdy, comfortable ride and a seated position that is perfect for long hauls across tarmac surfaces. It comes in at a relatively affordable price point and although it may not be the most features packed road bike on the market, it is well built, hard wearing and great for anyone who wants to get serious about training and competing without breaking the bank in the process. The steel frame has a classic design that has slim tubing and a clean finish. The front fork is also fashioned from steel and although this might be a little heavier than the carbon which is used frequently on other road bikes, it does allow for the overall price to be kept low, making the Gary Fisher Triton a good bike to choose for those who are just getting interested in road bikes and the associated culture. Bontrager contribute the tyres, rims, saddle and seatpost which means there is some quality workmanship behind most of the individual components and with Promax brakes, you can keep precise control over the speed of the bike at all times. The handling is good for a road bike in this class and its single speed set up will suit riders with specific purposes in mind but it does make it more of a focused cycle than an all-rounder. The lime green paint job of the Gary Fisher Triton is pleasant to look at and there is barely a trace of flashy extras or over the top branding as you might find on innumerable other bikes. A small ‘fisher’ from Gary Fisher on the frame and Bontrager’s logo on the rims and tyres is all you get in the way of markings, which I think is good to see in a world where garish, clashing colours and excessive use of decals can mar the look of other bikes. Hopefully, others will feel the same.
